Wellness is dynamic progression of being aware of and making choices that leads to a pleasing and fulfilling life. It can also be defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It is of great importance for one to pay attention to self-care, subduing stress and relaxing and learning from experiences. It could be defined as the potention to having awareness of our personal feelings, coping with them and not being in denial, looking at alife from a positive perspective despite it always disappointing us. Environmental wellness gives us the inspiration to live concerning our surrounding and encourages us to live in peaceful coexistence while taking care of our environment. This leads to positive communication with our surrounding. Spiritual wellness is represented through religion, it gives one a reason in life and thus developing a set of values that guide how they live it.
Financial wellness is the ability of a person to be able to manage their finances according to their expenses and needs. Financial constraints at most times is the top stress causing factor amongst people. Financial stability compared to instability brings a peace of mind and satisfaction to one’s life and improves the general wellbeing of the individual.
Intellectual wellness is one’s ability of open mindness and being able to accept new ideas when approaching a situation, it also involves gaining new and more knowledge through education.
Occupational wellness enables one to achieve satisfaction and enrichment from their jobs. Social wellness gives us the ability to interact with other people and perform our roles in the society.
It could be achieved through getting enough rest, eating healthy foods, exercise and attending to any sign of illness.
